Background and Design Requirements
The client came to Design 1st wanting a design several custom products to integrate into their control room system to create the most advanced operating control system for technical work environments, including air traffic control, police dispatch, and emergency services.
- Maximize use of existing off-the-shelf (OTS) parts
- Design custom user interface controls
- Develop a custom temperature control device
Product Design Challenges
Implementing Design 1st’s proven process, the team was able to overcome several technical obstacles, including:
- Airflow optimization for temperature controls for individual spaces within an open office environment
- Integrating custom part design into Adaptaspace's existing off-the-shelf part product configuration
- Help organize over 1000 parts into a final product build to ensure consistent quality during manufacturing, transportation and assembly at client premises
