Background & Design Requirements
The client came to Design 1st with a product concept and wanted to develop a bathtime play structure for toddlers.
- Collaspable design to store away when not in use
- Room for optional accessories to add to the structure
- Designed for toddlers from 2 to 4 years old, accommodating a variety of bathtub sizes
Design Challenges
Implementing Design 1st’s proven process, the team was able to overcome several obstacles to:
- Choosing a rotational molding manufacturing method to meet the design requirements of product
- Research standard bathtub sizes, and safety design requirements for toddler bath devices
- HygIenic, waterproof materials, that durable to support long product life
Project Results
Through creativity and technical understanding, the Design 1st team developed a fully functional pre-production product with manufacturing drawings ready for volume production.
